JSON Formatter
About this tool
Pasted JSON is read with the browser's JSON.parse and written back with JSON.stringify. Beautify splits it into lines with 2-space, 4-space or tab indentation; Minify removes every space and line break.
If the syntax is wrong, the line and column of the error are shown instead. Common mistakes are a trailing comma after the last item, single-quoted strings and unquoted keys — standard JSON allows none of them.
Everything runs on this device, so tokens or personal data in API responses never leave it. Numbers are read as JavaScript numbers, so integers above 9007199254740991 may lose their last digits.
FAQ
Can I just validate JSON?
Yes. If a result appears the JSON is valid; otherwise the error location is shown.
Does it accept comments?
No. Standard JSON has no comments, so // or /* */ cause an error. YAML supports comments if you need them.
Is my input saved?
No. It is processed in your browser and never sent or stored.
