ScotTools (“the Site”) complies with the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea and related laws. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the Site.

1. Information we handle

The Site has no sign-up or login and does not collect personal information you type in. Values you enter into tools such as the calculator are processed only in your browser and are never sent to or stored on a server.

The following information is, however, processed automatically or when you choose to contact us.

  • Visit statistics (Google Analytics): pages visited, time of visit, browser and device type, approximate location (country/city level), referral source, and tool usage (running a calculation, copying a result, moving between tools). Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.
  • Server access logs: IP address, browser information and time of access may be recorded while operating the Site.
  • Email inquiries: your email address and the content of your message, if you email us.

2. Purpose

  • Analyzing visit statistics and improving the service
  • Keeping the service stable and fixing errors
  • Replying to inquiries

3. Retention

  • Visit statistics: automatically deleted 14 months after collection.
  • Server access logs: kept for up to 30 days, then deleted.
  • Email inquiries: deleted without delay once answered, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

4. Service providers and international transfer

We use the following providers to run the Site.

  • Google LLC (USA) — visit statistics (Google Analytics). Data: the visit statistics listed in section 1, sent over the network while you use the Site. Retention: 14 months.
  • Amazon Web Services, Inc. — website hosting and delivery (Seoul region, CloudFront). Data: server access logs. Retention: up to 30 days.

5. Sharing with third parties

We do not share your information with third parties, except where required by law.

6. Cookies and how to refuse them

We use Google Analytics cookies for visit statistics. You can block cookies in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). All tools keep working if you block cookies.

7. Your rights

You may ask to access, correct, delete, or stop the processing of your information. Email us at the address below and we will act without delay.

8. Security

The Site does not store user information on its own servers, and all traffic is encrypted with HTTPS.
